ASKING THE BIG QUESTIONS NOW, NOT AT THE END OF LIFE

  • Have I obeyed Jesus’ basic commands to make disciples?
  • What are the names of the disciples I have made or influenced?
  • Am I ready to learn how to become a disciple of Jesus in such a way that I can naturally be who/what He has called me to be?
  • Do I have the kind of Presence in my life that makes me naturally attractive to those with problems? Do I want to be a conduit of the solution?
  • Do I have my eye on the ball of “purpose” that I know that if I keep doing what I’m doing right now for the next 30 years, I would be able to say, “I fulfilled my spiritual purpose?”
  • Can I be a part of a Kingdom reality that is do-able, sustainable, communicable, scalable and reproducible?
  • I CAN ASSUME

  • I can assume this will require doing life with others, perhaps more than I’ve been comfortable doing in the past.
  • I can assume I have some defaults that are based on my family of origin, my social/cultural more’s that are different from others.
  • I can assume that some of my defaults are actually due to areas of bondage, selfishness, and isolation that will naturally begin to change as I get connected, full and free.
  • I can assume there are more areas that need to be transformed, changed from glory to glory – if this were easy I would have already done it.
  • I can assume this transformation will require numerous encounters in His Presence, and numerous personal “life-giving instructions” that fill me, free me, and move me from one level to another in the Father’s purposes for me.
  • It is my assumption that this will involve levels of fasting, prayer, worship, decisions, and inter-relatedness with others... and that my pace of transformation will not necessarily be the same as everyone else’s.
  • I can assume that this will introduce me to the Apostle’s doctrine and how I abide in that teaching.
  • I can assume the Lord will work with the materials He’s got (me), and He will be asking me to do the same, asking “What’s that in your hand.” He will expect me to do something with what I’ve got, from where I am right now.
  • I can assume some parts of this will be fun and glorious, and some parts may be uncomfortable.
  • STARTING POINTS

  • We are about the Presence of God rooted and sustained in the living Word of God.
  • We want to infect people one-by-one with true discipleship in Jesus Christ.
  • Missions focus: Very soon into the life of the community we want to develop missions vision, projects and connections... leading teams out regularly to impact with what we have.
  • We see ourselves as a Personal Transformational movement. We are about slow and intentional personal growth, no matter what the numerical growth looks like.
  • All leaders go through and stay committed to the Triad transformational process.
  • The focus of our gathering is transformation and training. So as new people come in, we all take responsibility to take people into a triad and teach them. If someone brings a new person into the church, they take the responsibility to begin to explain what we’re about and then disciple them.
